Although most of my career was dedicated to science and mathematics, I inherited a love of creativity and crafts from my mother who made dolls cloths for my sisters and myself from the time we were pre-schoolers. 

On retirement, I began my artistic journey with a watercolour workshop in Barcelona then joined a South Korean / NZ artist and her group for a watercolour painting journey through part of Spain, Italy and Turkey.  After this retirement trip, I spent a couple of years learning the basics of sketching and watercolour painting before experimenting and trying different approaches and techniques.

I love the peace and flow of watercolour.  We are so lucky in New Zealand with such wonderful scenery and interesting native and local birds.
